Today I was reading this book at the library: The Japanese in Latin America, by Daniel M. Masterson with Sayaka Funada-Classen. Great investigation!  Japanese immigration to Cuba is only briefly approached in the chapter "The Smaller Communities, 1908-38;" but the continental scope of the study is remarkable.  Looking forward to buying a copy for my personal library!
