On January 9, 2014, Mr. Keiji Furuya, who is a Member of The House of Representatives and Chairman of The National Commission on Public Safety (and holds other ministerial positions in the Japanese Government), visited the Pantheon of the Japanese Colony in Cuba, in Havana City's Christopher Columbus Cemetery. Mr. Furuya is also President of the Japan-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship League and was on an official visit to Cuba.
